The Best Car Upgrades to Get First

If you love your car in Forza Motorsport 8, you will naturally want to outfit it with the best car upgrades in the game. However, Turn 10 Studios did something different this year with car upgrades in comparison to prior Forza Motorsport games: Car upgrades are earned rather than purchased. Upgrades are bought with Car Points, but you must use the car and level it in order to unlock those upgrades. As a result, you must race with your car to upgrade it; you cannot simply spend credits and have the best car in the game.

Because of this, players want to know the fastest way to earn Car Points in Forza Motorsport 8. Moreover, since you only start with 300 Car Points, it is now more important than ever to prioritize which parts to upgrade on your car first.

Best Car Upgrades to Buy First in Forza Motorsport 8

With only 300 Car Points to start with in Forza Motorsport 8, these are the best car upgrades to get first.

Most of the time, players look to improve two aspects of their cars first: speed and handling. Whether it’s more acceleration off the line and top speed, or more stability for taking corners faster without spinning out. In that case, these are the upgrades you should prioritize first.

Best Upgrades For Acceleration, Horsepower, and Top Speed

  • Car Level 1 – Exhaust, Air Filter, Restrictor Plate, Intake Manifold, and Throttle Body
  • Car Level 6 – Flywheel
  • Car Level 8 – Fuel System
  • Car Level 9 – Transmission and Differential
  • Car Level 10 – Driveline
  • Car Level 11 – Ignition

Best Upgrades For Handling and Stability

  • Car Level 1 – Brakes, Chassis Reinforcement, and Roll Cage
  • Car Level 4 – Front Anti Roll Bars & Rear Anti Roll Bars
  • Car Level 8 – Spring and Dampers
  • Car Level 11 – Tire Compound

It should be noted that these are simply the best car upgrades in Forza Motorsport 8 for the early game and do not go beyond car level 11. However, higher-level upgrades such as Twin Turbo will help increase your car’s speed, just as getting the Weight Reduction upgrade at level 20 will help your car’s handling and stability. If you want your car to perform at its very best, you’ll want to get all the upgrades in Forza Motorsport 8.

Car Points are Refundable. So, if you’re unhappy with one of your upgrades, simply refund it for something better.

All Car Upgrades in Forza Motorsport 8

With only 300 Car Points to start with in Forza Motorsport 8, these are the best car upgrades to get first.

There are 39 car upgrades in total across the maximum 50 car levels. These upgrades and car levels only apply to the car you’re currently driving. So, if your car is level 10 in your 2002 BMW ZE M Coupe, you’ll be car level zero in your 2001 Acura Integra Type R.

That also applies to car upgrades, as purchasing an Exhaust upgrade does not apply to all cars, only the one which you bought it for. As a result, you must grind car upgrades separately for each car.

As a result, you can see what each upgrade does and how it will affect your car’s performance. That way, you can pay close attention to detail and fine-tune your car exactly how you want in Forza Motorsport 8.
