  • Fans express anger and concerns over the frequency of objects being thrown at performers on stage and the potential consequences for live events.

Acclaimed actress Florence Pugh was hit in the face by an object thrown by someone in the crowd while appearing at the recent CCXP event. Pugh took to the stage alongside her Dune: Part Two co-stars Timothée Chalamet, Austin Butler and Zendaya, and was struck in the eye while the group posed at the front of the stage. The footage has now been shared to social media, and fans are seriously displeased with what happened.

The object hits Pugh directly in the eye, seemingly with some force. As her co-stars slowly realize what has happened, Pugh reaches down to pick up whatever the item is. People throwing things at performers on stage has sadly become a more frequent occurrence lately. Pugh’s Don’t Worry Darling co-star Harry Styles was also hit in the eye while performing earlier this year, with the likes of Cardi B and Drake having also been struck by objects thrown at the stage.

Thankfully, no one has been seriously injured so far. But fans have taken to social media to express their anger over what happened to Pugh at CCXP, as well as concerns over what could happen to live events should this appalling behavior continue.
