Drake‘s tour is all a blur, but his checks always clear. And because the Canada native is all about sharing the love, he’s been making sure to give back pieces of his wealth to the fans he’s been meeting on the road, in the form of expensive gifts.
Throughout the It’s All a Blur trek, which Drizzy co-headlines with 21 Savage, it hasn’t been uncommon to find the “One Dance” musician pausing his sets mid-show to choose one lucky fan in the crowd. Then, he bestows upon them a present with a mind-boggling price tag, unless of course he opts instead to just give them straight-up stacks of cash.
How does he choose these recipients? Pretty much at random. Aubrey Claus does, however, seem to enjoy picking people based on the homemade signs they bring into the pit — points if you can work in references to his music.
And while his luxury lottery on tour has made quite a few headlines this year, Drake has actually been all about goodwill since the beginning of his career. In his hit “God’s Plan” music video, the rapper could be seen handing out cash to students, schools and shelters in Miami.
And since 2010, he’s donated thousands of dollars to families in need, hurricane relief, under-funded music programs, education and more. “There’s nothing like seeing people experience a joyful moment when you can tell they need it the most,” he said back in 2018.
From handbags to first class flights, keep reading to see all of the expensive gifts Drake has given out to fans at his concerts below:
Throwin’ in the Towel
Date: Aug. 13, 2023
Venue: Kia Forum in Inglewood
Okay, Drake’s post-show sweat rag isn’t exactly a luxury gift, but fans sure did scream and fight over it as if it were worth millions. Right after his show in Los Angeles, Drizzy threw his perspiration-soaked towel to a female fan in the crowd, unwittingly sparking a tug-of-war that ended with the rapper yelling at fans to stop.
The Birkin Bag Look Way More Heavy
Date: Aug. 17, 2023
Venue: Kia Forum in Inglewood
One lucky fan went home from Drake’s concert with a bright pink Birkin Bag on her arm. After proudly declaring “Drake ain’t cheap!” the musician scouted the pit for a fan to give the Hermès accessory to, landing on a woman in the front row. See here.
Giving Chanel Out Like a Hug
Date: Aug. 22, 2023
Venue: Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles
One female fan got the ultimate birthday gift at Drake’s L.A. show, when her sign reading “Will Champagne Papi wish this Champagne Mami a happy birthday?” caught the musician’s attention. Not only did he do just that, but he also surprised the fan with a brand new Chanel handbag.
“It’s your birthday? Happy birthday!” he said, before aptly switching the music to his own song “Child’s Play” — which, of course, features the lyric “I give Chanel out like a hug.” “Before I hand her the bag, we gotta play the song that goes with the bag.”
Fifty Thousand on My Head
Date: Sept. 1-2, 2023
Venue: T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas
When one fan at Drake’s Las Vegas show revealed he’d be going home to an empty house after spending all of his furniture money on tickets to the concert, the rapper was compelled to help fluff out their budget a little bit — with $50k, to be exact. “My man, your furniture money, I’mma give you 50 bands tonight cause’ I love you,” he told the fan, before noting to his team: “Make sure he gets his money tonight.”
“Listen, this is what life is about,” Drake then addressed his crowd. “I’m trying to teach you something tonight. I want you to understand something tonight. You never know what the next person is going through. You never know what the person in front of you, to the left of you, to the right of you, behind you, is going through.” See here.
And You Gotta Fly In First Class
Date: Sept. 18, 2023
Venue: Toyota Center in Houston
The “God’s Plan” artist returned the love to one of his biggest superfans after spotting her in the crowd at his Houston concert. “There’s this girl right here, I swear, I don’t know what kind of effort you put in,” he said, singling her out. “But I feel like I see you at every show … Brooklyn, Dallas, Dallas, Houston, Houston.”
As a reward for her loyalty, Drake promised to fly the fan out first-class to his next show in Atlanta, giving her VIP seating on top of $10k in spending money. “You been repping real hard this whole tour,” he added. “I f–k with you.”
I See You Back in Turks
Date: Sept. 25, 2023
Venue: State Farm Arena in Atlanta
After finding out that a just-married couple at his Atlanta show had skipped their honeymoon to attend the concert, Drake pledged to fly them to the Bahamas out of pocket. “One of my favorite places in the world, you know what it is? It’s a place called Turks and Caicos,” he told the newlyweds. “I’mma send ya’ll to Turks and Caicos.” See here.
Date: Sept. 28-29, 2023
Venue: Kaseya Center in Miami
Drake knows what it’s like to be in your feelings — so when he saw a fan holding up a sign about going through a breakup in Miami, he decided to help out by giving away $50k in cash. “My bro right here, he said, ‘I spent all my savings buying tickets for me and my ex, but Honestly, Nevermind, it’s really Her Loss,’” the Grammy winner said. “You know what? She’s gonna feel real f–ked up ’cause I’ma give you 50 bands, so you gon’ flex on her tonight.” See here.
