Cardi B’s nail tech has decided to forgive her husband for allegedly setting her salon on fire in the middle of a breakdown.
According to ABC 7, Jenny Bui, who owns Cianna Creations Nails & Spa in Brooklyn and does the “Bodak Yellow” rapper’s nails, spoke out in defense of her husband Nguyen Bui, who was charged with arson on October 25.
The celebrity nail technician said her husband was dealing with a lot of inner turmoil at the time of the fire.
“Give my husband one more one more chance, he’s a good man,” Bui told the outlet. “He said he was stressed and I didn’t question him because there’s too much going on already.”
Fire investigators at the scene reportedly discovered a DVR of Nguyen Bui setting two napkins on fire and throwing them on a pile of boxes. The couple ended up losing over $100,000 in supplies due to the fire.
Nguyen Bui’s attorney Darnell Crosland also spoke out in defense of his client. He gave HipHopDX an exclusive statement.
“From the moment I stepped into the Bronx Supreme Court to handle my client’s arraignment…, Jenny was with me. As the facts unfolded I realized and argued to the court that this was not your typical arson,” the attorney wrote.
He went on to say that the full video shows “Billy [using] his hooded sweater to put out the fire before he turned the lights off to head home. Unbeknownst to him, there was a hot spot that later ignited.”
The lawyer said clearly that “Jenny stands by her husband,” and that Cardi has been in Jenny’s corner the whole time.
“Cardi B has been a blessing to us,” Crosland said. “Not only has she been an amazing support to Jenny, [but] she continues to remind us that we will have haters [and] that we have to be strong. Cardi B is a blessing to us all and Jenny is lucky to have her as a client and a friend.”
“I’m from the Bronx and she makes me proud to be a Bronx native,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, the “WAP” hitmaker recently practiced forgiveness in her own life when she came out and seemingly hinted at easing up on her sworn enemy, Tasha K, after the disgraced blogger [who lost a multi-million dollar defamation case to Bardi] shared some of her innermost thoughts in which she seemed genuinely remorseful for her past actions.
“I hit her today, and this is what I said to her,” Tasha K began in an Instagram Live on October 25. “That caricature of the brand she has is not the one that parents those kids. You could tell a lot about a person by how they parent their kids. […] I started this platform to keep people out of depression, and I misuse it a lot.”
Tasha K also alluded to being part of a machine that “tore Cardi down,” and alluded to the rapper’s recent tweets about suicidal ideation.
In response, the “Bodak Yellow” rapper seemed to soften on her original stance against Tasha K.
“It don’t make me happy seeing somebody else going through some shit,” Cardi said on Twitter Spaces on October 25, which appeared to be a direct response to Tasha’s comments. “It don’t make me happy seeing people with tears on their face. And I’m not telling this because I want y’all thinking, ‘Oh Cardi, you’re so nice,’ this and that. It just genuinely doesn’t make me happy.”
She continued: “I’m gonna talk to my mom tomorrow because, let me tell you something, I could tell when somebody is depressed. I can tell when somebody is going through some shit and I can tell when somebody just feels like they don’t have nobody to talk to.”
Bardi, however, didn’t directly mention the Unwine with Tasha K host by name, nor did she make any reference to the verdict or to Tasha K’s bankruptcy.
